ok, i'm doing a little feed with interesting lines taken from my favourite magazine LEXEAN. LEXEAN is pretty much current affairs discussion with lots of controversy, and it writes on issues which may not usually matter. (ha-ha)

from issue 15 (2008), here goes, each sentence as quoted exactly:

• ... which begs the question just how large the Russian inferiority complex must be if a country that spans 11 time zones can still feel "encircled".

• German Chancellor Angela Merkel is well-liked by world leaders, so much so that President Bush gave her an impromptu neck massage at the G8 submit in Russia in 2006 (youtube it).

• John McCain ... said, regarding religion in Vietnam prison camp, "One day I talked about the parable of when they asked Christ whether they should pay taxes and he held up a coin and said, 'Render unto Caesar' ..."

• North Korea is now nuclear-armed, Iran will be, and Russian imperial ambitions are rising. But it is not a total loss. The Bush administration has dramatically increased funding for AIDS in Africa.

• The American flag is burned in the Middle East as often as incense, and Koreans riot in Seoul at the mere mention of American beef (of all things). Russia used the Bush Doctrine to attack Georgia...

• Despite Bush's best efforts, the bill died.

• Indeed, Bush's greatest success is that he screwed things up so bad that the unthinkable now seems possible ... The next president may just be a black man with the name Hussein.

• "Unlike Kim Jong II, who says he is well but has not appeared, I thought I'd better say hello to you and apologise for not being able to join you." - Minister Mentor Lee Luan Yew, greeting participants of the Global UBS Philanthropy Forum via satellite video feed.

• "I cannot do everything all by myself. I need support. I cannot just go to Dato Seri Abdullah, catch him by the scruff of his neck and throw him out. All things that I should do will need support, especially from UMNO. But UMNO and its other leaders are useless." - Datuk Dr Mahathir Mohamad on why he did not take action after UMNO's recent electoral loss.
